My NightmareI woke in the middle of the nightMy Nightmare by MartialArtsLife
one hazy day not too long ago
I rolled tiredly off my bed
and glanced over my shoulder
at my girlfriend who was sleeping soundly next to me
I walked slowly down the dimly lit hallway
until I saw something out of the corner of my eye
I turned to face a stranger standing there
right in front of me
my eyes met theirs
but instead of fear
I was filled with sorrow and anguish
for a moment we both stood there
studying each other
from what we were wearing
and each others scars and bruises
to reaching down into each others soul
and seeing the torment we both shared
I saw their struggle and their pain
I saw the broken pieces of their heart
and the anger they held inside trying to repress
and I silently wondered how they could still be standing
a tear rolled from my eye
my heart began to race and I tried
but I couldn't catch my breath
I could feel my entire body start to shake
as a million thoughts raced viciously through my head
Are you a boy or a girl? This is an interesting question that gets asked a lot usually by children as they are curious and seemingly have no filter but it’s definitely not limited to just them. Are you a boy or a girl? by Swim2theSun
I can think of several instances in which I have been asked this question throughout my life as well as witnessing others being asked this. I can’t remember myself ever asking this question, not to big myself up or anything, but I know that I did have that dialogue internally.
I remember when I was in middle school (grades 7 & 8) and seeing this other student. They looked like they came from an ethnically mixed background, had a sort of tough air around them and often wore their hair in long corn rows. I was never friends with this person as they were sort of intimidating and I can remember sort of trying to figure out whether this person was male or female, without asking them. Of course there were plenty of other kids around the school who did go up to them and ask them directly what gender they were.
Christmas WishSocks. That's really all I want this year.Christmas Wish by RCrawrsLOUDER
But I want them. Not her. If they were to be hers, it would defeat the purpose. They could give her Copics, or a train, or a helicopter, but she wouldn't notice, because she doesn't exist. He does-not just he: me. I do. My name is Lukas.
I can't blame them for not knowing that. Not an ounce.
I keep fantasizing over that one present.. If they're for Lukas, well, I'd be the happiest boy in the world. Even if they are just socks, they would be Lukas's socks. And Lukas has never gotten a chance to celebrate Christmas, has never gotten a present.
It's just socks.
Are you a boy or a girl?Mama stood frozen, staring down at the cherubic little redhead, his words still ringing in her ears. "Are you a boy or a girl?" The other redhead, the little one's brother, blushed and hastily touched the boy's shoulder. "Ao-chan, that was mean." Finally shaking off the shock of the child's keen perception, Mama gave a shaky laugh. "It's quite alright, Hayes-sama. May I answer him?" She smiled at the confused expression Ace shot her before he nodded and let go of his brother. Are you a boy or a girl? by RhiAnai
She knelt and took the little boy's hands in hers, running her thumbs in gentle circles over the backs of his hands. "I know it's a little confusing, since I have a boy's body and have to wear boy clothes to work, but I'm actually a girl. I'm not the only girl like this, either. Do you know what the word transgender means?" She waited for the boy to shake his head no before brushing back his bangs. In the periphery of her vision, she saw Ace's eyes widen slightly before he nodded his encouragement. "It means that
I guess I've a resolution for this year...-I guess I've a resolution for this year... by DestinyKayChan
ESPAÑOL / ENGLISH
I really dunno why I'm going to say this...But I feel that I must to do it for starting to deal with myself...
*Ehem* Since I was a kid I always felt that something was "wrong" in me...That feeling was peer pressure.
Peer pressure to my gender.
Peer pressure to my likes.
Peer pressure to my attitude.
Peer pressure to my thoughts.
Peer pressure to...myself.
"If you born as a "female" you MUST to be a female. If you born as a "male" you MUST to be a male. " That was how I was taught. So I must to be a female, because I was born with female genitalia. Right...? I haven't any option, Haven't I? I can't determine how I feel, Can't I???
Perhaps...I DON'T feel as my genitalia determinate. Or, I DON'T feel as a binary gender...Why people don't think about that? Why people assume that everybody is cisgender? Why can't I be myself? I'm human, Right? As you. As your neighbor. As your
The LGBT Club"Hurry up, Lucas!" called out a young, fourteen-year-old girl. She had short, curly, red hair and a spray of freckles across her face. With her shining, sapphire eyes, she was a true ginger. The LGBT Club by floridapanther28
Lucas, the boy trying his hardest to catch up, landed a swift blow to her shoulder.
"Not so loudly," he muttered, voice ice-cold and face warm as the duo attracted the stares from those around them.
The girl rolled her eyes and opened the classroom door for him with a smug smile on her face. He pushed her over and grabbed the door.
"I've got that for you, honey," he snickered, getting the door for her. She grimaced and punched just inches away from his chest. He laughed, leaving the rest of their class quietly staring at them.
"Never hold the door for me," she huffed, taking a seat at the front of the class. "You're not known as a boy yet. Besides, girls can hold their own goddamn doors."
"Not so loud!" Lucas hissed under his breath, feeling his heart speed up. "Maddie, you may be comfortabl
Pride?I was just thinking about what to draw for Transgender Day of Remembrance (open to suggestions, guys!) and I thought, why isn't there a trans pride day/week? All we have is a day to remember those we lost because of the awful things that can happen to trans people. That is hardly instilling hope for us, we should have a day where we show our pride, as much as our solidarity, where we can show the world that it's not all bad. There are pride days, weeks and months for many groups, but sinking into hiding and invisibility are the already overlooked trans community, and I don't think that is right!Pride? by CallMeHe

Submitting Your Work
This group is specifically for art that deals with the topic of gender identity.
When submitting art to b00b-B-gone, please make sure it fits the following:
1. Your work must be about gender identity. (We are not a group for LGB art, unless the art also has Transgender themes.)
2. Your art must be supportive of transgender and gender queer people. Work that is anti-trans or against deviantART rules will not be posted.
3. Keep submissions related to the aforementioned theme. (i.e. A picture of you with your cat or cosplaying your favorite character is really not directly related.)
4. Try to keep submissions artistic. ("Myspace photos" or shots in front of a mirror will be denied.)
5. Deviations are limited to 3/week and are subject to vote.
